What is a Psychometrician?

Simply stated, a Psychometrician is somebody who practices the science of Psychometrics.
The measurement of an individual’s psychological traits, including their knowledge abilities and skills is Psychometrics. The role of a Psychometrician is wide. In addition to the specifics mentioned above, a Psychometrician will also be active in issues of critical relevance to a business, including talent management, coaching, organizational development and performance to name a few.They achieve that by creating valid and reliable Psychometric and Skill tests to uncover aspects of the individual's aptitude or personality at work in a statistically and quantifiable manner.

TAQYIM is keen on employing Psychometicians who have earned PhD’s in the field of Industrial-Organizational Psychology (also known as I-O) from reputable schools to ensure that rigorous methods of psychology are applied in our tests.
TAQYIM’s tests comply with international standards and guidelines such as; The Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures (41 CFR 60-3), as well as the Standards for Educational and Psychological Tests Development by the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, the National Council on Measurement in Education and the Guidelines for Educational and Psychological Testing developed by the Canadian Psychological Association.

Research is continually being conducted on past tests and newly developed tests in a process of ongoing improvement.

As an example, the Personality profile took more than 3 years of research to design and test. A test that will decide the fate of another person needs to be tested over and over again to insure it is accurate. These testing periods last years and are reviewed by many people not just the developer and his staff in the course of a few months. Our whole system has over 13 years of testing to ensure the tests are accurate, valid and Reliable. All our tests meet EEOC requirements.
